Letter to the Editor

To the editor: San Francisco is planning to open up the first safe injection site in the US in the summer. While the idea of having a place for addicts to shoot up without consequence is a scary thought, that is our reality. In San Francisco, needles and homeless are an inseparable and common sight. What we're doing now isn't working and the more policing of heroin users only exacerbates the problem. We might as well have a centralized area for people to receive medical attention rather than having them partake on the streets. And if the safe injection locations fails, San Francisco is already hated by the Trump administration anyways.

Tristan Borillo, one of the greatest American otaku, dies in his home in Tokyo at the age of 83. Leading an ambitious, but lonely life, Borillo succumbed to a rare form of lung disease. Borillo was awkward in his youth and often turned to the world of anime as an escape from the harsh realities of life. After graduating from San Jose State University, Borillo found himself living in Japan for several years. With minimal knowledge of Japanese, he traveled across Japan, working odd jobs and staying at capsule hotels with the objective of immersing himself in the Japanese language and culture.
